Wets Do It Again Tour 2004

In December 2004, Wet Wet Wet completed a hugely successful arena tour of the UK and Ireland! The tickets were in so much demand that three extra dates were added to the original twelve!! For this Greatest Hits and More tour, Wets revisited many of their old hits and included new songs, providing a very varied set list. No one would ever believe that this was their first tour for 7 years, they were better than ever!!  The acoustic set was superb and it developed nicely as the tour progressed. Another highlight happened during Goodnight Girl when each band member took a turn with the microphone and at some gigs Marti played drums while Tom sang! Each show was special and Wets proved once again that they are all exceptionally talented musicians.

There were several new things included on this tour. Before 4 of the gigs: Cardiff, Newcastle, Glasgow and Wembley, Wets fans were allowed to be present at the sound check before the show! Whilst this package did not include meeting the band, they very kindly did meet fans, signed autographs and had photos taken! It was also very nice to be able to meet Dougie Souness, Wets' manager! It was an amazing experience for everyone who was able to take advantage of this offer.

Another unusual aspect was that a small number of fans were allowed on stage during each concert. There were over to one side of the stage from where they had a very unusual view of the show! Not only was it very strange to be able to look out over the audience but to see the guys before they went on stage and when they were on stage before the curtain went up. It was incredible!!!  The roar of the crowd sounded so much louder up there than it did in the audience.

At the end of each show, a double CD of that evening's gig was available! What a brilliant idea to be able to take the show home with you and to be able to listen to it over and over!  A boxed set is also available which includes all 15 concerts!!!
